How can Megalytics make your job as a marketer Mega easier?

“If you can’t measure it, you can’t improve it.” - Peter Drucker

Measurement is the key for any business or marketing campaign to be able to determine their success. One of the best ways to measure online success comes from the help of Google Analytics and Adwords. However, the key data from those sites needs a bit of help when generating it into a user-friendly report that can easily be read and analyzed by all.
When I first began using Google Analytics, I was slightly overwhelmed. It’s amazing that it can track so much (for free!), but there was no way that I would ever need to use every analytic and report for a client. Plus, the site seemed a bit confusing to read, analyze and compare statistics.
If you've ever had to create a custom report for a client or colleague, you know why the analytics reporting world needs improvement. Importing data into spreadsheets. Writing formulas. Creating charts. Trying to paste everything together to look good. It’s no fun and takes way too long (Google Analytics, 2018).
This is where the Google Analytics solution—Megalytic—comes into play.

Megalytic

Megalytic allows for you to connect to the sources of data that you use for reporting such as Google Analytics or Adwords via widget, no importing or exporting. From there, you can use Megalytics' templates to get started fast or create your own customized one from scratch. Either way, it will generate your report in an easy-to-read, attractive manner. It allows you to customize everything—tweak the titles or do major surgery on the charts and tables.
Once you like it, save it as your own template and reuse it across multiple clients or have it ready for fast input for the next month. Add your logo and cover page to match your brand and then instantly send it out as a link to a webpage, a PDF or both (Megalytic, 2018a). Ta-da!

Show Me the Money!

One of the best parts about Megalytic is that it has an array of plans to fit every person’s need, whether that be for one client or a whole agency. The four tiers of plans begin with ‘Basic’ for as low as $39.99/month and continue to raise in price until the top-tier, ‘Enterprise,’ which is $399.98/month.
The vary in price is because of four different categories (below). The larger the price, the more options available in each category (Megalytic, 2018b).
1.     Reports
2.     Connections (like Google Analytics)
3.     Users (the report generators)
4.     Clients

What makes it Mega?

Besides the ability for complete customization of reports, Megalytic comes with many features that make it great to use. The first includes all labeling capabilities. This means that you can completely brand your report to match your business. Use your logo, create your own brand-matched cover sheet, email reports from your company address and host client accounts on your own URL.
Next, the ability to collaborate with coworkers. Chances are you’re not conducting your reporting alone—especially in the effort of saving time. Multi-user plans allow you to add as many coworkers as you need, make changes live and share instantly.
Third, client accounts. You can provide your client with real-time online access to all their reports. This is secure, and password protected. They can view their reports in one space, make edits to the date and download PDFs anytime. No access grant from you needed.
Last, multilingual reporting. Have you ever worked with a client in a different county? I have, and language barriers can be difficult. This allows for you to create the report in English and publish into various languages. You can even automatically translate digital marketing words like “bounce rate” (Megalytic, 2018b).

M&M: Megalytic and Marketing

Let’s be real, when it comes to digital marketing reports for your client or boss—one of the most important aspects is simply how it’s packaged. Even if the work is exceptional and the results are amazing, without the right packaging and delivery, the real value of what you’re giving may be lost.
Beyond that, we as digital marketers tend to have a love/hate relationship for reporting as on one hand, it’s repetitive and time-consuming which takes away from what we’re really doing which is producing those (amazing) results.
But on the other hand, agency accountability and performance are almost always assessed, at least partially, through data-based reporting. In that sense, the data in reports is essential to account management and long-term client retention (Mark, 2018).
The issue is there’s too much button pushing. Data scattered across multiple spreadsheet exports that need to be gathered and then flowed together. Charts and graphs are often manually created and then moved over to a document or slide deck. It’s a strenuous process that needs to be repeated every 4 weeks.
This is what makes Megalytic the perfect tool for marketers that have to produce daily, weekly, monthly or even yearly reports about campaign progress to present to the client. Once you have your preferred report in place—it’s then just a few clicks, and it’s sent. You can even set reports to update automatically in real-time dashboards. Time spent on administrative work is a thing of the past. This allows you to quickly analyze your progress, present it in an attractive manner and get back to the important stuff like helping your client.
Beyond that, it allows for more analysis and insights. Creating a report is only the beginning after all. This allows for agencies to be relieved of time-consuming manual effort so that they can spend more time actually analyzing the data leading to more value creation for the client.
Even when reports are assembled manually, there is no guarantee that reports will be the same from month to month. Human error are ever-occurring factors in manual labor. Megalytic can also increase an agency’s ability to adapt to client’s needs. When the reports don’t have to be created by hand, it’s much easier to accommodate sudden or unexpected requests that change the scope of the reporting.
For example, if a client would like to change the date range of the reporting or alter the frequency of the data points (daily, weekly, or monthly), a “new” report is just one or two clicks—not hours or days—away (Mark, 2018).
No more end of the month manual labor issues, Megalytic is the solution.

  1. My post this week talked about the importance of visual ads and transforming data into charts and graphics, so its interesting to see a different perspective on the topic. It seems that both Data Studio and Megalytics both are able to provide the same benefits when using them.

  2. Hi Sarah,

Many companies do not know how to read their Google Analytics. This data could be cumbersome to understand. Some rely on other big data and analytics platforms that offer data, services, and analytics tools in real time reporting. This reporting is processed into user friendly reports so decision makers can understand on a customized dashboard. Megalytics is one of those companies that offers “easy to read” analytics. More big data companies are starting to understand that “Google is King” and offer GA integration with their platforms. These companies usually charge a monthly fee and need to keep up with the major giant, Google, in technology trends. The benefit, these companies offer is real time reporting. If a company is just using GA, analytics are processed with a lag time of 24 - 48 hours to display in your account. This can be a substantial amount of time for things to go sour in a business. With real time reporting on customized user friendly dashboards, decision makers are alerted quickly of any pitfalls or errors by tracking the existing trends. These patterns could avoid hiccups in active marketing campaigns and give the marketer a jump start to fixing the issues before customers are impacted (Pineau, 2017).
